Christian Lenten Season


 

     During the Lenten Season, Filipinos have notably observing the Holy Week that usually falls under with the month of April. Lenten Season is a period of penitential preparation for Easter. Filipinos known for having good hearts and the way they value their traditions like the Lenten Season.

 

     Lenten Season Comprises a period of 44 days. The Lenten fast excludes Sundays and continues through Good Friday and Holy Saturday, totaling 40 days. It is a time that we recall the sufferings Christ face just to save us and it is the time that we recall Christ give himself to nail in cross. Ash Wednesday officially known as the day of ashes, it is a day of repentance, when Christian confess their sins and profess their devotion to god. Also during Lenten Season on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and all Fridays, adult Catholics over the age of 14 abstain from eating meat. During this pandemic, people that will allowed to go to church is limited because of the virus but Filipinos continuously follow all the rules during Lenten Season.

 

     However, Filipinos should always treasure the importance of Lenten Season in the midst of pandemic. We should all value the sufferings Christ face for us to save us to our sins. We should remember that Lenten Season is not be stopped even though there is pandemic.
